January 31st, 2008 | One of the good things of working at a supermarket…

You get first dibs on reduced stuff. I went to work today and got given the rather fun task of marking down a whole trolleyload of christmas confectionery and cakes and stuff. I know this sounds really sad but it was kinda funny coz me, Sylvia and the veg guy Eric were going through all the stuff and picking out the things we wanted to buy. In the end I got this M&Ms bowl thingo, a huge toblerone and a lindt reindeer for 7bucks. Eric and Sylvia got a hell of a lot though - like 20/30dollars worth of chocolate xD It was hilarious. Eric got like 5 boxes of reduced M&M’s and the guy after him was like ‘taking advantage of the bargains aye?’. I laughed. So yeah. Chocolate overload right now. I feel really sick actually…and I have to sleep soon. Coz I got work tomorrow at 9…at Perth 2 _-_ To be honest I don’t know who in their right mind would pay 7+ dollars for the M&Ms bowl I got.

Also, I had a kind of revelation today. Or a few. Okay so I’ve been working at IGA for a while now, and there’s these customers that I always recognize since I always work on a Thursday. Like this one guy - I SWEAR I’ve seen him before…i keep thinking that maybe he might be a classmate’s dad or something, but seriously he just looks so young (and kinda cute) to be married and having kids. But anyway, he always usually comes in on a Thursday to do a week’s shopping, and for some reason I always see him every week coz he always somehow ends up at my checkout. And it’s kinda weird because maybe there’s too many people on the other aisle…but yeah…maybe I’m just strange for noticing these things.

Then there’s this OTHER guy that ALWAYS comes into IGA…like seriously. He like lives there. On a Thursday at least. I don’t know about other days, but he always comes in during the evening/night at LEAST once, but often two or three times. I don’t know what he does but he just comes in, buys stuff, goes out. And half an hour later he’s back again…to get another drink? Yeah, he’s another weird one. Once when we were closing shop he was just standing outside near the metal pole things watching us carry the boxes of fruit inside. And he noted how there was a pen someone had left on top of one of those poles. I was like okayy….you can keep it if you want. Haha.

Then there’s the addicted smokers who have the inane ability to wait half an hour at the checkout for a pack of cigarettes. I swear to god it’s horribly sad but I was put on checkout 1 today, and seriously people actually wait there in this huge line to get their ciggies. It’s like some of htem are just desperate for their cigarette. This one woman bought a whole carton today and it bumped the price up to 120 bucks. I mean, WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. That money could go to so much more worthwhile things…and people go spend it on smokes. I’m so glad I don’t smoke.

So anyway I should probably sleep soon…but I swear I think I’m going nocturnal. It’s like my sleep pattern has gotten pushed forward more and more and more that I’m not sleeping at 4am. That’s gotta be bad for you. I just don’t know what I’m going to do when uni starts! I figured that I should at least try make use of some of the scripts in fantastico courtesy of my host, and installed wordpress, b2evolution and nucleus. They were all okay, I think MT still has the best user interface. But customizing the look is a pain in the ass, especially for someone like me who just wants a no frills, no calendar/categories/commenters/search etc. etc function that i just deleted the wordpress and b2evolution. I did leave nucleus though, because it looks promising…almost like Blogger. But I’m having trouble customizing the comments and mesages. Plus there’s random forms everywhere and I entered a mesage in which I have no idea where it went to. So yeah. I might try figure that out tomorrow after work.

I’m rich again after payday…and this time I really am saving now that I’ve paid off my macbook. It’s so hard to save nowadays though…especially in an increasingly consumerist society Perth is becoming. It’s like people are really rich because they spend on unnecessary stuff but when it comes to owning houses…gen0yers are still renting/living with their parents. I’d say that most have actually given up on owning a house now that the price has gone through the roof. Oh well. I’m rambling now.

January 30th, 2008 | Updated stuff

Well I finally stopped procrastinating and updated the layout, since the last one looked like absolutely shite on my PC, and also because apparently it wasn’t very user friendly. Soo I’ve gone back to the good old table. Seriously though, I HATE creating tables in Dreamweaver. I’m getting used to it though:) What surprised me though was the fact that my macbook has like 100000x better, crisper image quality than my PC. Honestly I had no idea there was that much difference. Maybe it’s my screen but yeah, viewing graphics is a LOT better on mac. I still find it easier to so stuff on PC though:P Probably because there is so many more programs available for PC which lets me do stuff more easily.

Anyway - I FINALLY GOT MY DREDG CDS TODAY!!! Definitely happy. I got El Cielo and CWA, for $40 from amazon which is a good deal I think. My mum thinks I’m a spend thrift though, only because all the stuff I ordered months ago is finally arriving. Like the dredg promo CD I got….10 dollars well worth spent I was going to cancel my Dealextreme order but I realized they had already shipped it today…so great timing.

I’m also waiting for this new program to come out - called Qtrax. Apparently its this free program which lets you legitimately download songs from them for free. In return they just put ads up in the programs. Sounds awesome to me. Only thing is, the mac version comes out in March ._. Should be interesting to see how it turns out though. I’m sick of old untracked torrents…I’ve been downloading NIN’s Broken forEVER now and its only at 4% -_-

I really want to get the NIN and Incubus DVD’s but I really need to save…I just love watching live DVDs and I saw some clips on Youtube today and it looks awesome. Plus I want that CD that comes with the Incubus DVD…its like this instrumental CD of some sort which sounds pretty cool.

I saw Juno by the way, yesterday with Elle, Diana, Kelly Mon and Simone. It was pretty funny but the music kinda got to me because it just went onnn. I thought it was pretty sweet though and sad at the end…but I kinda knew already that Mark and Vanessa would break up. Kinda weird relationship going on between Juno and Mark though!! The actress that plays Juno is also pretty intense. In a good way.

Anyways I had better go…got work tomorrow and its already nearly 2am. I don’t know how I’m going to survive when uni starts. And on a last note…BIG DAY OUT THIS SUNDAY Partay like its 1999.
