History
Elusionerie.com was created January 23rd 2008, kind of on a spur of the moment thing. I’ve always been interested in graphic design and web designing, so this site will probably contain that focus as I get things up and running. I have previously been hosted at Greenshadow.com by the wonderful Zzy for well over three years, and also have various other sites and blogs scattered around the internet at the moment.
I have only recently come back into web designing as I have been extremely lazy/haven’t had the time to work on the skills I learnt back when I was 13/15. So things you find on here - coding, photoshop layouts, css, etc. etc. might seem a bit rusty and messy at times. Sorry about that. But I am regathering the bits and pieces I still remember. Part of the reason why I created this website was to basically challenge myself to learn new things and to become a better designer and artist. So hopefully this site will improve at least a little bit in the coming future.
Elusionerie is made of two words - elusion and reverie. I know it sounds kind of stupid and corny but I’ll be honest I was stuck for names when I went to register a domain. God kill me if I ever name a site ‘Sugar Star’ or ‘Glitter Sparkles’. I wanted something which reflected what I was going to do with the site, and what it would be about. Well in my mind Elusionerie means to escape and elude reality for a bit(I wanted phantasmagoria.com at first…ha de ha ha well that was taken), into a realm or world where anything is possible and where digital code can be recreated into dimensions that push the boundary of ‘the internet’. That’s what’s so amazingly great about all this - that codes and numbers can be transformed and manipulated basically anyway possible. While I am definitely GLAD that I did not take up Computer Science at uni, reading all the code and scripts people come up with is quite inspiring. That all those ugly numbers and brackets and forward slashes can work together to produce a functionable and awesome website is beyond me.
Anyway, that’s basically a bit of background for you. Deep, deep stuff. Please keep checking back for stuff on here:) Enjoy the site.
